Parva Musica, meaning 'little music', was inspired by some of the first repertoire researched by founders Adrian France & Tom Robson.

In Dresden in 1666, Christian Dedekind (the Konzertmeister of the Schloßkirche), having become tired of the rivalry between German and Italian singers, split the groups of musicians in the court, focusing his energy on the Kleine deutshe Musik (little German music), which would provide the music for every day use.
